Publication on super-enhancers in trophoblast stem cells!

Huge congratulations to our postdoc Dr. BK Lee who published a first author paper in Nature Communications entitled "Super-enhancer-guided mapping of regulatory networks controlling mouse trophoblast stem cells". BK defined clusters of enhancers in these cells to identify and characterize novel transcription factors like Hopx, Meis1, and Mafk, most of which had never been shown to play any role in the placenta before. Though he was the leader of the project, fellow postdoc Dr. Yujin Jang and graduate student Mijeong Kim both contributed significantly, particularly during revisions.

We hope that these factors' newfound functions in trophoblast lineage differentiation will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy disorders.
