Chloe starts rotating in the Kim Lab!

Chloe (Xi Shi) graduated from Lanzhou University and has had over a decade of research experience. She successfully reprogrammed somatic cells derived from human urine (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27132887), optimizing the method to increase the yield of induced pluripotent stem cells over 170-fold. She later applied her technical finesse to single cell qPCR to analyze the epithelial-mesenchymal transition during human ES cell differentiation towards liver cells (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5418622/). In our lab, she hopes to characterize novel transcription factors that repress ES core factors and activate trophectoderm markers. Good luck to her!
